One night during the two years of attending A Course in Miracles, I awoke from a dream in which I saw a silver cord attached to the top of my head and extending higher up. Then it broke! By morning, I was still feeling anxious, for I had previously learned that the silver cord is our life connection and I now questioned whether my life was about to end. At the next A Course in Miracles meeting, I shared this dream with a woman who I knew to be spiritually advanced. She leaned close to me and with a reassuring smile said, "You woke up, didn't you?" Waiting a few more moments for the impact of her words to sink in, she turned to speak to another.
Several years after that, on one of my then partner Stephen's tours, we attended an event where a variety of New Age* experiences were offered. We had photographs taken that showed the colors of our auras— mine had a lot of blue and green, and a small amount of red. In Stephen's photo, I could see his silver cord extending from the top of his head to the photo's edge. Only in this writing have I now connected this to his passing four years later.
My realization is, "Experience becomes knowing, when by more developed senses, we witness what we have formerly only heard or read about."
